California Recording Fees

Generally the fee for recording documents is $7.00 for the first page and $3.00 for each additional page.  There may be additional fees for indexing "double documents" and special fees for certain documents.

Transfer tax is calculated at $1.10 per $1,000 and the following cities charge a City Transfer Tax in addition to their respective County Transfer Taxes, as follows:
